TAKE THE BISCUIT

Caller:
Alison Rowley

Welcome back to the 4-piece Take the Biscuit, who last played for us Jan.2017.

Veteran drummer Rob Gifford (The Committee Band, Flowers and Frolics, Chalktown, Stomp) and seasoned bassist Trevor Lines (Bonfire Radicals, Molten Amba, Chalktown) provide the groove whilst a youthful frontline formed of accordionist Matt Brookes (Capers and Japes, GiffordBrookes) and violist Beth Gifford (Mrs Savage’s Whim, GiffordBrookes) add their dynamic expression and lyrical phrasing to the mix.
********
A first time for Alison calling for us at Meltdown
But she's played here before with the lovely
Bristol Ceilidh Quartet in Nov.2018.

The OLD CHAPEL BAND

Caller:

Emma Wooders

The Old Chapel Band has been in this current line-up since 2016, making a name for itself on the Ceilidh circuit and festival scene.

The line-up is Keith Holloway - melodeons, Toby Goss - clarinet, Taz Tarry - fiddle, and Heather White - tenor saxophone.
All have built up a lot of skill and experience in playing for English country dance and ceilidh, both for private dances and public ceilidhs,  with their joint CVs including Random, New Band Anglo, English String Band and Grand Union; as well as playing for, and dancing with, various Morris sides over the years...a great way of mastering the art of playing well for dancing.

Super to have Emma back again
